It may be 11pm on the east coast but it’s never too late for a highlight reel of the day. Today we’re featuring Tate Young, a 2018 midfielder from Westlake, Texas. Young recently committed to Notre Dame after de-committing from UPENN. The move involves him taking a PG year to reclassify.
Tate burst on the scene early in his high school career and you can easily see why. He is simply lightning fast and his lacrosse IQ is off the charts. I remember seeing his freshman year highlight reel in 2015 and came away knowing that this kid would be DI bound.
This past spring he helped lead Westlake to a 14-5 record before falling to eventual Texas state champion, St. Mark’s, in the state tournament quarterfinals. Tate plays his club ball for Long Island Express and the Texas Mustangs. I’m excited to see how far he can take the Chapparals, but being a prep school product myself, I’m even more excited to see which NE Prep he goes to for his PG year.
