Today’s YouTube Highlight Reel of the Day goes to Zach Frank, a 2020 Midfielder from Hopkinton, Mass. Zach is what every team needs, an absolute spark plug. Although he appears to be lacking some height, he plays like he’s north of 6 feet and runs like a bull. A pure athlete, Zach’s got a lot of potential to hone his lacrosse skill set but even now is able to use his strength and speed to make a difference on both the offensive and defensive ends. On O, he’s able to beat his man 1 on 1 through a burst of speed and very fundamentally sound north/south dodge. On D, he’s very aware of the play, smart to slide and not afraid to throw his body into the scrums on the ground.
As a guy who loves when somebody embraces the grittiness of a d-mid, Zach is someone I see excelling in this role at the next level. Just look at 1:40 and the clear to power cradle to goal. Ugh it’s just beautiful.
