Black Friday shopping is overrated but HROTD’s aren’t. Today we’re spotlighting Many Betrus, a 2020 mid/FOGO from Brother Rice (MI). As a freshman, Manny was a key contributor this past spring for the Warriors en route to another state title (Manny went an otherworldly 17-20 on draws in the title game). Primarily a FOGO, it’s not uncommon to see him sticking around on O and taking his defender to the rack. At the X, Manny is able to control nearly every aspect of the draw. He knows when to pinch and pop to push transition and also able to securely get the ball out to his teammates crashing in on the wings. Aside from his quick hands and game awareness, Manny is also able to use his large frame to his advantage. You can easily tell he’s one of the more athletic, stronger players out on the field, especially when he’s out on the offensive end.
Manny plays his club ball for Juiced Cherries, a program steadily becoming the premier midwest club and overall household name. With the Juiced Cherries he had an excellent summer circuit, racking up an All-Star Game appearance at the Inside Lacrosse Recruiting Invitational.
